Driving India’s Green Energy Transformation

Since centuries greenhouse gases are emitted from burning fossil fuels like oil, natural gas, coal. These gases released in the atmosphere trap heat from sun and contribute to global warming and climate changes.

The global energy landscape is undergoing a profound shift. With rising concerns over climate change and the urgent need for sustainable energy sources, India is making remarkable strides in embracing renewable solutions. One such milestone is the commissioning of the country’s first bamboo-based 2G Ethanol Plant, and Universal Forces Industries (UFIPL) is proud to have played a pivotal role in making this vision a reality.

A Landmark for India’s Renewable Energy Journey

Established at NRL Assam Bamboo based Bio Ethanol Plant is scheduled to be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on September 14. This pioneering facility marks a defining chapter in India’s transition towards clean energy, sustainability, and self-reliance.

The project is not just an ethanol plant—it is a symbol of India’s Indigenous ability to transform agricultural and forestry residues into green fuels, reducing dependency on fossil fuels while creating opportunities for rural communities and industries alike.

Setting a New Benchmark in Ethanol Production

A proud achievement of this project is the successful production of ethanol with an exceptional purity of 99.7%v/v. This remarkable benchmark sets a new standard for second-generation (2G) ethanol production in India, proving that advanced biofuel technologies are not just a concept but a viable industrial reality.

UFIPL’s Contribution: Engineering for Impact

As a trusted technology partner, UFIPL had the privilege of design engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of advanced Hydrolysis Reactor package—a critical process unit central to the plant’s operation. This complex engineering feat was executed in close collaboration with Engineers India Limited (EIL), and Chempolis (Finland) ensuring world-class precision, reliability, and performance.

The Hydrolysis Reactor system is a vital component in the entire project that enables the efficient conversion of bamboo biomass into fermentable sugars, forming the foundation for producing ethanol at high purity levels. The successful deployment underscores UFIPL’s expertise in delivering complex process technology with plant and equipment for renewable energy projects. This is the only newer innovation in bamboo based ethanol technology as all other process like making bamboo pulp, fermentation and distillation are proven technologies long before.

Commitment to India’s Biofuel Mission

This milestone reflects more than just engineering excellence—it represents UFIPL’s broader vision of supporting India’s national priorities:

Advancing the Biofuel Mission: Accelerating the adoption of clean, indigenous fuels to reduce carbon emissions.

Driving the Make in India Initiative: Delivering world-class solutions that are designed, engineered, and manufactured in India.

Shaping a Sustainable Future: Providing innovative technologies that promote energy security, reduce environmental impact, and create long-term economic value.

Looking Ahead:

At Universal Forces Industries, innovation and sustainability are more than corporate goals—they are guiding principles. Our role in India’s first bamboo-based 2G ethanol project reinforces our commitment to engineering excellence and environmental responsibility.

As India accelerates its renewable energy journey, UFIPL will continue to contribute to projects that power progress, create impact, and build a greener, cleaner future for generations to come.
